1:48/On30 motorised Working Steam Log Winch Kit

(includes 25:1 planetary drive motor)

This is a wonderful kit from the 'Bulahdelah Alum & Timber Company' workshops. We have taken a die-cast double reduction winch kit and mounted it on a flat car, then 'powered' it with our twin cylinder steam donkey engine. This low-geared working log winch kit has enough torque to pull a loaded train up a steep incline so it could be considered a locomotive of sorts!

The donkey engine flywheel appears to drive an electric dynamo which powers the cab and boiler lights. (Of course, the Dynamo is fitted with a miniature electric motor with integrated 25:1 planetary gearbox so it actually drives the steam engine but we won't tell anyone if you don't!)

The 25:1 motor/gearbox can be hidden inside the sump of the steam engine. Contact us for details of this modification to the standard kit. 

This working model operates from any +/- 12 volt DC source and includes an optional red LED for the boiler ash pan and yellow LED for the cab lighting!
