Genuine Delicious Murano Old Chevron Bead!

200 Years Old!

The chevron or star bead is from the familly of drawn beads, called "rosetta" in italian. They habe been made in italy since at least 1496. They were made using a fifteen step process. When it is viewed in cross section, a star pattern is visible. In West Africa, they are called "King beads" because they were used by only by the chiefs of tribes. Most are 4 or 6 layer, although they can be up to 10 layers. The second, 4th and 6th layers are always white.
