One lovely hand made short black 'bamboo' Horn Hair Stick with a hole for your custom adornment !

This is a hand made hair stick from Central Java.

Beautifully made, these horn hair sticks look great and hold well. They are really very strong and make it easy to pin hair up. The natural horn is variegated in colour and no two pieces are exactly the same in coloration. This one is an even black with bamboo like carving, very elegant, and has had a hole drilled on the end to do your own special custom adornment! They give a beautiful touch to your long hair when it is pinned up, and also make a wonderful gift for others. This is one of my favourite single sticks to do a secure pin up for my hair (but I use a longer one) as you can see the single horn stick in photo 6 (and instructions on the bun making in my Guides) - but I know many people like a set of chop sticks to hold their hair and these are a good shorter length, excellent for smaller buns (they do not impale your friends when you turn your head!).

This hair stick measures approx 1 cm in width at the end and 13.9 cm in length (functional length 12.5 cm), weighing approx 5 g each. The stick is simple but attractive with its bamboo design and has a hole (to be used to adorn with your own special decoration). It is not exactly straight, but curves ever so slightly being hand made of a natural product (this does not affect wear). It is made from water buffalo horn, but the water buffalos are not hunted for their horns, they are a common domestic animal in Java. These are listed as multiple items, so may differ slightly being handmade from a natural material.

This product is made in Magelang, a little town north of Yogyakarta. We buy direct from the makers as we used to live there and have many family connections – resulting in fantastic prices for you!
