SEE LOTS OF CLOSEUP PHOTOS BELOW -Even when I include photos in the upper left corner of the auction page, I always show them within the description as well. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ 10 Vintage Art Deco Christmas Cards - I picked cards with blue and blue-gray backgrounds or with blue accents for this lot....some are a nice Wedgwood blue. I suppose some look more gray under some lighting but all of these go well together.

The Two Below are Hand Colored

The background on the bottom card is more beige than this photo shows---it looks more peach colored in the photo.

These were are in the style in the Art Deco period, depicting quaint snow-covered cottages, horse drawn sleighs, Southern Belle or Victorian ladies, children, Nativities, The Wise Men, Old World Carolers, candles, holly and berries, church snow scenes.... all evoking the feeling of fairy tale Christmas magic. The card directly below is a photgravure of "The Shepherdess" by Lerolle.

The three Wisemen at the top left is heavily embossed and looks like Jasperware or Wedgwood to me.

Some of these with blue backgrounds have light age toning or maybe a slight amount of fading around the edges.

The brightly colored clothing, pets, and store items are all handcolored. The background is more blue than the photo shows. Note the upper left corner has a nibble to it and there is a very light stain on the lower left edge.

ALL ARE PRINTED ON CARDSTOCK, SOME ARE EMBOSSED, TWO ARE FOLDED RATHER THAN FLAT, ONE IS A POSTALLY USED POST CARD WITH STAMP...MOST HAVE SIGNATURES AND/OR MESSAGES.....some are signed on the back rather than the front. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
