Why boxed and walled?
All down or feather doona must be boxed so the filling is each contained in the compartment. This is how a down doona works to insulate your body to keep you warm. But boxed does not mean it's walled which is called Baffle Box the highest in workmanship in making down doona. When it's also
walled, down does not leak out from the box stitching lines so easily and also does not shift between the box. The size of each box also matters because the smaller the box, the less moving area in each box compartment so this is more workmanship making the doona a higher priced quality warmer doona.
How to tell it's true baffle box (i.e. walled)?
Beware of fake! You can check it's baffle box simply by pulling
the donna shell top and bottom along all the stitching lines of
each box compartment over the surface (exclude the 4 donna side edges) to see if the top and bottom shell fabric seperated which means there is a wall in between is baffle box. If top and bottom shell fabric stick together, it's STITCHED THROUGH, NOT BAFFLE BOX ! Construction such as cassette, stitched through, box construction, channel, sew in pockets are all stitched through not BAFFLE BOX. |

1. What is the difference between down & feather?
Down is a cluster under the neck or underarm of goose/duck so it's more rare and it is much expensive than feather because it's LIGHT WEIGHT while WARM and TOTALLY SOFT. So the higher content of down the more expensive the doona so buyer must be sure of the content between down and feather, they are absolutely different thing and thus the price difference so don't be tricked. It's bargain only if it's real!
2. How to tell i have bought genuine down product?
Very easy, down is totally air so a down doona you can't feel hard object inside as down is totally soft as it's only down hair trapping air making the natural insulation when your body release warmth, the warmth is more efficiently trapped. So the LIGHTER WARMER is one checkpoint. You can use our weight to reference. For eg. Our 98% duck down king here 1500gm NET FILL already give 5.5 blankets winter warmth which we specify to stand up to about 11 deg Celcius (outdoor temp) already. If you see duck down weight heavier but less warm BEWARE TWO THINGS! Most likely, it's down content is misleading NO MATTER WHAT THE LABEL state and there is feather inside because feather give you the weight buyer think what a bargain so heavy while warm more or less ok. As a reference point, a king down doona almost no one produce over 2000gm NET FILL as too hot can't use.
3. If feather inside could tell?
No, a high down content say 50% down and up, normal consumer may not be able to tell. So from the warmth rating to weight could tell whether they cheat to give you feather for down. Again this king 1500gm NET FILL already give 5.5 blankets winter warmth up to 11deg C.A low down weight so if some one sell 3000gm and give 5.5 blankets up to 11deg C that must be a feather doona so don't pay down price.
4. Then 1500gm NET FILL give 7 blankets must be better than 1500gm NET FILL 6 blankets?
Wrong, blanket warmth is a ebay norm here so why we even STATE TEMP USE UNDER NOW then buyer has a clear reference point. There are many misleading blanket warmth from our customer who bought 3~4 blankets but receive a 1-2 blankets. 7 blankets but not warm enough for winter. Our 6 BLANKETS STAND UP TO 8 DEG C (outdoor temp, inside temp warmer), 12 DEG C PERFECT, is proven and told by many customers before we put in description to share with all other buyers.
5. Lastly, feather and silk is not classifed by fill power.
Fill power is use only by down feather industry for DOWN ONLY. Also FEATHER by material itself HAS NO FILL POWER as feather don't fluff up and please don't joke anything that fluff up give a fill power.
6.Oh High Fill Power is good, how to tell?
Simple, while all kind of fill power is possible in advertising, we now narrow down to compare fill power, on same or similar weight, check out what temp can the product guarantee you approximately because each person body strenght different but if a 800 or 700 or 600 FP same weight give same
warm as 500FP then you know if you want to pay a high price that don't exist.
7. High blanket warm 7,8 9?
Similarly, what these temp stand for. Bargain is true only if it's real.
8. Net fill weight vs Gross weight?
Net fill weight refer to down or feather or both mixed filling inside the doona weight EXCLUDING the shell. Gross weight refer to the total weight of the product.
