About the Tie   -    The tie contains non-toxic biodegradable polymer crystals that turn to a gel when soaked in water. This polymer soaks up to 800 times its own weight in liquid, then slowly releases it through evaporation creating a constantly cool surface. It sits comfortably on the neck, cooling the major arteries that carry the blood from the heart to the brain, reducing the body temperature. It is made of polyester which prevents colours from fading or running and gives the tie years more life than those made of cotton. The tie is re-usable many times over and with regular use will last 4 to 5 years. It can be handed washed with a mild soap.  It does NOT use cystals from nursuries or hardware stores and has been tested for use to satisfy certain medical conditions.

Directions for Use   - Simply place the tie in a bowl of tap water for about 1 minute, evenly work the crystals along the tie as they begin to swell, return the tie to the water for about 4 to 5 minutes, wipe off excess water and it's ready to wear. You can put it in the refrigerator to make it even colder but not the freezer. As the tie begins to warm up it should be turned over, exposing the skin on the neck to the coolest part. As the tie has two tubes of gel, it has a greater surface area than the single tube variety, its effectiveness is greater and  will stay cold for 6 to 8 hours before needing to be re-soaked in water.
