Used to hide knots/crimps etc @ end of necklace/bracelet/ankelet/earrings etc

The clam closes over the knot, then using round nose pliers form a loop with the open end of crimp to attach to clasp or earring hook

Also used to hide the loop @ end of memory wire, close the clam over the end of memory wire (the open end can be snipped off with wire cutters)
