This listing is for: Stanton 520SK DJ Cartridge & Stylus - as pictured >>>> - DJ CRAZE SIGNATURE MODEL
Now... This was removed from a Technics SL1200mkII Turntable I acquired recently. New price on these carts, was around $129-149.00AUD, and the stylus are widely available.
I must admit, I was a little supprised at the quality of sound that this crtridge produced - I also tested this cartridge with a multimeter at 20K, receiving a reading of 0.50 on the right channel, and 0.50 on the left channel.
The history of this cart and stylus appears to pretty good. It was owned by a Dance Music Producer, who used the turntable, primarily, for transferring tracks and samples from vinyl to the digital realm, and the odd bit of mixing in his home studio - which was also a smoke free environment.
I have the mounting hardware, and headshell available seperately.
Here's some comments I found on the web regarding this cartridge...
- one reason I use the craze cartridges over shure because
you can actually see the needle and they are less bulky
- The Stanton 520SK s are skip resisant as most djs like
- set it at 4 grams & they sound great
- Designed with the most demanding cueing in mind, the tightest suspension in the 500 family of products.
- This cartridge can take the most demanding loads and deliver on point tracking during backspinning and scratching.
- Perfect for Hip-hop / Scratch DJs
Stanton 520 SK DJ Cartridge The newest addition to the renown 500 series. DJ Craze, DMC world Champion 3 years runing, has selected this cartridge as the all time best competition cartridge. The sturdy suspension couples the thick wall cantilever to allow for high tracking forces and the grounded cartridge body minimizes hum and delivers great quality sound.
Basically a rapid form of back cueing, Scratching puts tremendous stress on the stylus and suspension. Stanton, serving the broadcast industry for many decades, knows more about back cueing than most any other cartridge company.
Stanton's super Hi polished diamonds are some of the smoothest surfaced diamonds available. They perform great while reducing cue burn and record wear.
Grounded stylus assmbly minimizes static charge. Annealed steel shell sheilds the internal coils from external hum pickup

The really great features to take note of with the 520SK II are, I believe, the economic price and great performance and celebrity notoriety.
Functional reliability is important and the 520 is built to work hard.
The New Hi Output designs actually reduce hi level "hiss" by letting you play at a lower volume setting while maintaining the same loudness.
