Antique Lot of 12 Sterling Silver Ice Cream Spoons ORCHIDS (1887) "T"

This auction is for an antique and very fine and rare lot of twelve (please note my picturdes show only eleven of twelve) Sterling silver ice cream spoons by Towle in their extremely early and rare ORCHID pattern of 1887. Teaspoons measure 5 3/8" long and are finely crafted from medium gauge Sterling silver (combined weight on my postal scales is around 9 ounces of the precious alloy). Back of handles are marked with manufacturer's trademark + Sterling + Pat. APP'D For. Found in very good used condition. Sport the period monogram of the letter T in gothic style. Shows no areas of unsightly damage or repairs, just light surface scratches, tarnish and wear to bowl gilding commensurate with age and gentle use. Offered for a low opening bid and no reserve.
