would you want 2x100Ah batteries?
You
can most easily 'build' a battery with a respectable 200Ah
capacity by wiring them in parallel. When wired in parallel, the
batteries will never need to be separated, neither for power drawing,
nor for charging. The 12V charger only 'sees' one big battery.
There is also the benefit of greater fitting flexibility since the
bulky volume of one big 200Ah battery is now split in half.
When
travelling, bulk charge this 200Ah combo by any means like any style of
12V car alternator as you won't easily exceed the maximum permissible
charge current which is now 60A.

charger (14.7V setting) whenever you've access to 240VAC.
