This signaboards are being sold as is.  When we received them they didnt come with the keyboard to program the message into the board.  So they are unusable in their present state.  The power cords were cut off most of the units.  There is a label saying Quintrix Communications on the casing. 

Personally I think they would be a great teaching aid, for someone interested in electronics, who wants to experiment with microcontrollers, and perhaps could replace the microcontroller board with the PIC microcontroller, so they could be controlled using known commands.

There is 8 of one type (square casing), and 5 of another (rounded casing).  (1 of each type has been opened up to look at the electronics inside).

Inside the board is using 74LS164 latches to drive the matrix of LEDS.  There is also a microprocessor board and power supply.  There is 665 RED LEDS per panel.

At this starting price they are less than $4 each!

Am clearing out the garage so they have to go!
