Welcome to The Budget Saddlery
We happily combine postage.
Our bits are made from top quality STAINLESS STEEL, meaning that they will never tarnish, flake or rust. These bits are not like the cheap nickel plated or chrome plated bits you usually find for this price, but are the real deal - genuine top quality bits.
The dutch gag is a leverage-action bit, meaning that depending on the placement of the rein on one of the lower rings, pressure is applied to the poll as well as to the bars of the horse's mouth. The bridle is attached to the uppermost ring, whilst the reins can be attached to the snaffle ring, or the lower ring. The lower the placement of the reins, the greater the pressure applied to the poll when the reins are pulled. This style of bit is commonly used on stronger horses (or by small riders on larger horses) for showjumping, cross country jumping, and general trail riding. It can assist with difficult-to-stop horses, and also can encourage a lower head carriage on approach to a jump.
This bit has a hollow mouthpiece, making it light and comfortable in your horses mouth. The french link means that the horse will not get the nutcracker effect (poked in the roof of the mouth) when pressure is applied to the reins. The flat centre piece stops this from happening - an extra comfort to your horse.
Lots of other bits & sizes available in our other auctions/store.

Shipping: We post two times per week - most commonly, these two days are Monday and Wed, but may be Tues/Thursday depending on our circumstances. If you desperately require an item urgently, please contact us by phoning 0422201841 to ensure we are aware of your need. We are located in a NSW country town, and as such, postage may not be as fast as if we were located in Sydney. WA and TAS customers, please allow up to 7 days for your item to arrive. All postage rates stated are within Australia only unless otherwise specified.
Registered Post: This is now the only way we post, (unless you have contacted us, specifically asking for express post instead). Unfortunately, people are quick to blame the seller for items lost by Australia Post and we are not willing to accept responsibility for losses in the post. Therefore, registered post is now the only option.
Emails & Contact: If contacting us regarding your item, please remember your manners. We do not check messages/emails every day, so please be patient. Emails will often go unnoticed, due to the high quantity of spam these days. Please use Ebay messages instead of email.
