Why is it important to have a frame with a 4:3 ratio LCD display?
Answer: The majority of Digital Photo Frames sold in the market now have a 16:9 ratio LCD display. Such widescreen frames use less expensive yet more readily available LCD displays as components. You can tell when you see resolution data such as 480 X 234, 800 X 480, and 800 X 400. They are all widescreen displays. The photos you shoot are mostly 4:3 in dimension. So when you use a widescreen display to show photos, you lose about 25% of the total viewing area.
The Kogan 15” inch frame has a 1024 x 768 LCD display, which is the highest resolution 4:3 ratio 15” Digital Photo Frame in the market!

Unfortunately I had problems seeing the on board memory first off, and the auto power on/off didn't work. After confirming the issue via email with Kogan support, they promptly arranged the courier to pick up and return the frame, and sent me a new one.
I like this photo frame. The simple black frame doesn't distract you from the displayed photo, and the infrared bubble is hidden in the corner. The user interface, buttons on the frame and remote are intuitive so you don't need a manual.
The power on/off feature is great, however, there is no random picture play and the frame doesn't remember which picture it last displayed, so each time it powers on it starts from the beginning again.
Eventually arrived and worked flawlessly straight out of the box using built in photos. Loading my own was a breeze and also performed just as well. Perhaps the power on/off function should also be highlighted in red as a bonus of this unit.
My only disappointment is the somewhat restricted viewing angles, particularly in the Vertical pane.
Music was adequate but you wouldn't be buying this for hi-fi performance anyhow. Music could also do with a random play function.
