The die cut below looks like it may have been a bookmark but maybe just a greeting card.......it has cut-outs in the panes of the lantern and the red ribbon fits into slits at the top and bottom to show through these panes as bright red light. The ribbon has deteriorated some and lost its ends so that it doesn't reach the full length. Below are various gift tags or inserts for gifts....I don't know the age but they are most likely pre-1920. There's a santa before he became fat, candle light and poinsettia, children, mistletoe, holly and Santa in his sleigh with his reindeer...
The two cards shown below are single fold cardstock.
I am dating the smallest celluloid card as 1907 since it is dated. The forget-me-not basket diecut and the folding blue mailer card could be earlier and have a Victorian flair to them. They all have the Art Nouveau elements.
Another celluloid (or some type of translucent plastic) embossed with a sailboat, holly and ivy, clouds and a "Thoughts of you" greeting" with a pink tie atop a cardstock backing with diecut edges embossed with ivy. Note on the cardstock--"A Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to you all from your friend Julia M Ferrie" The celluloid front was sewn to a portion of the cardstock at the fold. The fold has loosened so that the plastic front hasseparated from the cardstock backing. 5" x 3.25" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Folding embossed diecut greeting card with a basket of forget-me-nots on the front and opening to a greeting of "With Hearty Christmas Greetings" Mrs Annie R Garrott or Carroll.... 5"wide x 2.5" at tallest point ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I photographed the card below with sunlight coming through the window. Any streaks you see on the card are from the sunlight---it has NO discoloration...well the back has some age toning spots but you can clearly see that in the photos. The light areas seen in the photo below are sunlight coming in the window...it is NOT faded. Note the age spotting on the address side. A trifold mailer with embossed holly and berries and "A Happy Yuletide" on the front. 5" x 3 1/8" closed and 5" x 9.25" unfolded. Opens to a folded page with a handwritten message signed "Mrs Drake" of Jacksonville Fla. With a very Art Nouveau floral design on the printed greeting page. Wasn't sent postally but has "A Merry Christmas" sticker on the address portion of the mailer outside. TERMS AND CONDITIONS I am happy to combine auctions when possible.
