General Overview
[Text & Images Contain Registered Copyrighted Material of Internetional Business And logistics and its owner(s)]
Mice have come a long way since their introduction before the end of the last millennium. Technology has fine tuned and polished them down from Trackballs to Optical LEDS and Finally to Laser based tracking systems such as these which use a Laser instead of a Red LED light.
This is a special custom made mouse, painstakingly mirror-gold colour painted and polished to reflect its advanced new laser engine circuitry. The paint is metallic gold coloured. To make this affordable, we do not use real gold (element 79 "Au" on the periodic table)
Standing out like a drop of gold in a room of multiple light sources, it clearly reflects the natural beauty of the ambient light environment like a gem, and is bound to draw the attention of family, friends and colleagues and onlookers alike.

A selection of comments we have received:
Person A:- "woo.. Is that real gold?"
Person B:- "saw one like this on the internet some time ago, don't these cost over $4000? "
Person C: "Looks like some alien artefact from some Sci-fi show..."
Person D:- "pretty.... I've never seen a mouse like this before"
Person E:- "Who did you steal that from?"
Person F:- "Did you win that at some computer game competition? or is that the golden mouse award?"
Person G:- "My son loves playing computer games. If I could afford that, I know it'll make a wonderful present."
Optical mice have evolved from the heavier and bulkier trackball mice and offer better response and precision compared to most of their older counterparts. They benefit its users by being lightweight, more accurate and being less prone to errors caused by dust that may collect on trackballs etc. 1600 dpi is nearly double the 800dpi industry standard seen in most optical mice with the red LED base. There is no characteristic red light at the bottom of this mouse, just a ultra fine laser barely visible to the human eye.
Without relying on trackballs, laser mice can also be used upside down, or in space or in a zero gravity environment if you get there as long as you have a grip of the mouse pad/surface it is tracking, and may be more compatible with many more types of surfaces compared to optical(non laser) LED mice.

1600 DPI and 800 DPI adjustable resolution
DPI means 'dots per inch'. In the laser mouse market, we are aware of models that range from 200 to 3000 dpi resolution.
Imagine squeezing a High definition 1600x1200 resolution computer monitor down to 1 inch and looking at one of the nearly 2 million+ dots on that already micro sized screen. Thats approximately how ridiculously accurate this mouse already is. At anything above 1600 dpi, even after windows pointer speed has been set to the lowest level, the mouse pointer moves so fast that its not feasible for many users and applications, and may result in unnecessary unwanted movements. We don't know of any applications that can get any significant benefit beyond 1200 dpi. Therefore, we have chosen not to go beyond 1600 dpi for our mouse configuration. You can also swap between 800 and 1600 dpi anytime (instructions below). |

Next Generation High Resolution Laser Technology, Permanent
Anti-Shock - Solid State Sensor
We have equipped this mouse with something very different: Look underside, and you will see the focusing lens of new next generation affordable range of laser based tracking engines, refined to an ultra precise 1,600 dots per inch(DPI) ratio. The laser illumination is superior to LED-based illumination as it can reveal surface structures for tracking that a LED light source cannot uncover on many surfaces. The laser tracking system therefore has up to 20 times the tracking power of conventional red LED based computer mice; especially when it comes to optical interference, and also has more than double the accuracy and resolution of the vast majority (and perhaps all) of optical mice that use the older Red LED based tracking systems. The laser engine doesn't use a Red LED light. Only a ultra fine, ultra small, precise red laser dot may be visible. Do not look into the laser beam!! - it in a near invisible laser and is barely visible to the naked eye).

Gold Coloured Paint
People look at golden coloured mice differently... But however you look at it, whether it be beautiful, luxurious, or a big waste of money by attracting unwanted attention, it is still a unique and rare item in the commercial world that is likely to impress and draw attention, but this time, at an affordable price, since it's not made with real gold. |

Built-in Natural EMF Shielding Capability
If you have some knowledge in physics, you would be right to guess that the metallic paint acts as an effective faraday cage, shielding your mouse circuitry from a large percentage of background microwave radiation and static that can damage your mouse and interfere with its performance, especially when the mouse is capable of such high sensitivity and accuracy. This would be an ability that is not available in many other mice without metallic paint, especially those that use large sections of see through plastic.
If you accidentally put your mouse in a microwave oven, you can be rest assured it'll probably survive longer compared to other mice that would instantly 'burn out'. However, expect the paintwork to be damaged pretty badly even if it survives the microwave oven. For the sake of the effort put into making this mouse, don't try this at home on purpose! |

3D Movement
:Like most modern mice, this mouse comes with the standard 2 dimensional forward, backward, left and right movement range, as well as an up and down scrolling range to complement the 3rd dimension. |

Windows, & Linux & Macintosh Compatible
This mouse is compatible with all major operating
systems on a PC/IBM/Macintosh computers, such as WINDOWS 98/98SE/ME/2000/XP/2003/Vista, and LINUX kernel 2.4 or later Operating Systems, and Macintosh OS X systems. You must have a free working USB port available with sufficient power. This mouse is usually plug and play
and may only require a driver to be installed for Windows 98 operating systems.(Apple/Macintosh computers can run windows and use this mouse too.) |

Value
For Money
This is a very affordable mouse, and is good value for its size and performance compared to other laser mice on the market which retail for over $100, and is definitely cheaper than mice made out of real gold which are valued at several thousand dollars. |

The Cobra Eyes: The Night Hunter
The power efficient light emitters which we fondly call the 'eyes' of the 'cobra' mouse, will help you locate stuff like your mouse pad and keyboard and cup of coffee by shining dual beams of cool moon white light straight up at the ceiling, casting calm moon light on your surroundings (They are specially focused / orientated so they do not distract or blind your eyes while using them at your side).
They are designed so that once you put your hand on it, your hand effectively covers the light, letting near darkness take hold once again, except for the faint blood red glow from your hands which reflects off the mirror gold body of the mouse casting a faint glow around it... Move your hand or raise a finger to shed light on your surrounding once more.
Many other mice (especially laser mice) will be near invisible in the dark because they use near invisible lasers instead of the conventional bright red LED emitters... This cobra mouse will always be easy to find If you are work or play computer in a dark environment.

The LED emitters appear blurry in the photos due to the digital camera sensor. In real life, they should be distinguishable as two white circular LEDS by the human eye.

How
do i use it?
[Text & Images Contain Registered Copyrighted Material of Internetional Business And logistics and its owner(s)]
Firstly, please note that the infrared Laser Beam is Invisible to human eyes. You won't see any light coming out from the base. Also, please Do Not Poke the black plastic reflector at the base (bottom) of the mouse next to the lens; it is meant ot be there. Also, do not insert anything into the 2 port holes at the base of the mouse.
In
simple terms, for first time users, the device is a Plug and play device , which means most computers these days have the drivers and software needed to operate this mouse.
Simply connect the USB plug
to a spare USB port on the computer; The computer will detect the device and install
the drivers required to access the device. If you are using windows 98, the computer will prompt you
to install a driver via CD Rom if necessary (only required for windows 98 - contact us if you require a driver) The computer will indicate the device has been installed and after that, you should be able to use your device immediately with no hassles. You can also go to the control panel to adjust the mouse sensitivity, speed, pointer type, pointer trails and even reverse the buttons as necessary to suit your requirements. If you are upgrading from an older lower resolution mouse, this is often necessary to match the pointer speed you are used to. Laser mice move the pointers nearly twice as fast than normal LED mice due to the double precision.
When you are done using your mouse, you can leave it as it is, or you can disconnect the USB plug from the computer and pack it away (eg; if you need to store it in a laptop bag). As always, keep the mouse free from oil / oily fingers, and do not use solvents/paint thinners to clean the mouse. Wipe off any oil gently with a little bit of soap and water and a soft non abrasive cloth. You can also cover the mouse buttons with transparent / clear screen protectors/tape and it will protect the paint without ruining the gold mirror effect (up to you).

Change between 800 and 1600 DPI resolution (dots per inch)
[Text & Images Contain Registered Copyrighted Material of Internetional Business And logistics and its owner(s)]
If you wish to change between 800 and 1600 DPI, press and hold the left and right mouse button together for 2 to 3 seconds. You will notice a change in the mouse pointer speed. It is easy to tell which resolution you are at because 1600 DPI is ~double the speed of 800 DPI. If you want 1600 DPI but want your pointer to move at the same speed as your old 800 DPI mouse, just reduce the pointer speed via the control panel.
Suitable surfaces it can be used on
[Text & Images Contain Registered Copyrighted Material of Internetional Business And logistics and its owner(s)]
The laser mouse works by scanning the differences in surfaces it moves over. The laser tracking system is up to 20 times more sensitive to the surface texture than older LED based optical mice so it can track surfaces LED mice can't track/follow. So theoretically, the mouse can be used on mostly any solid surface, rough or smooth as long as it has some form of texture that distinguishes one point of its surface from the area beside it. The surface must also be able to reflect a small amount of laser light back to the sensor on the mouse.. We have tested the mouse with rough and smooth tables and office desks, standard mouse pads, clothing, human skin, reflective kitchen grade aluminium foil (both sides) and even 4mm thick transparent glass (as long as there is a scannable surface beneath the glass). This mouse won't work on totally clear and smooth transparent material that is thicker than 4mm or doesn't have a suitable scannable material or texture beneath it. It also doesn't work well on mirrors.
We have tested it to work with smooth frosted glass and aluminium foil because there are slight differences at the microscopic level which the mouse can sense and use as points to track its movement.
We currently use ours on the smooth side of an LCD Panel that was removed from an old faulty laptop computer (making it the most expensive mouse pad we've ever used), but the embedded pixels on the other side of the panel are perfect for the laser tracking system and the glass/gloss surface side is extremely smooth (and for some odd reason, it gets smoother over time, maybe the non stick material on the mouse feet gets transfers over; we're unsure)
Occupational Health and Safety
[Text & Images Contain Registered Copyrighted Material of Internetional Business And logistics and its owner(s)]
People have different hands and slightly different anatomy from each other, as well as different beliefs towards keyboards and mice.
This is a standard warning regarding your health and safety: Some 'experts' say that the use of any keyboard or mouse may cause serious injury. Whether you want to believe it is up to you, but for our computer mice, we can give some general advice and recommendations; eg: keep your shoulders relaxed with your elbows at your side, position your keyboard and mouse so you don't have to constantly reach out to use them; adjust your chair, keyboard and mouse so your wrists are not resting on sharp edges; when moving the mouse, move your forearm instead of twisting your wrist left and right; keep your wrist relaxed and straight -- don't bend it up, down, or to either side; and most importantly, be alert to signs of discomfort. If you find using the mouse is uncomfortable, we recommend you take a rest and stop using it. You may like to modify your hand position in the future (eg: You can try positioning your hand in a more comfortable position- sometimes we find that placing all 5 fingers at the same level on the mouse can help prevent discomfort, or just let some fingers sit freely on the mouse pad without grasping the mouse. If in doubt, stop using the device and consult a health professional for advice. For more information you can also do a search online about ergonomics and occupational health and safety. Do not stare at the invisible laser beam at the bottom of the mouse..

Engraving
[Text & Images Contain Registered Copyrighted Material of Internetional Business And logistics and its owner(s)]
Due to the LED emitters within the mouse, and the transparent and opaque nature of the plastic case, engraving it can give some interesting results.

If you would like to engrave the mouse, it should be done prior to any coating or lacquering of the mouse to extend the paintwork (an optional step which is described further down).
Adjusting the Light Emitters
[Text & Images Contain Registered Copyrighted Material of Internetional Business And logistics and its owner(s)]
Some people like the white light emitters, some people don't like it, some prefer if they could be turned off or pointed elsewhere. (You can alter the lighting by painting over the white emitters to make the light soft and diffracted/distributed like frosted glass, and you can also tint it with some semi transparent coloured markers. You can also open up the mouse and cut the light wires with a wire clipper- at your own risk which would also void warranty; Note: the screws are underneath the 4 white mice feet). The edges around the mouse directly next to the buttons and the 2 lights are made of transparent plastic, so it makes this part excellent for engraving as any paint removed from this area allows white light to shine through. If you somehow manage to rub off the paint over time, you'll get a semi transparent glowing gold mouse as the side lining casing is transparent underneath and the white lights inside will shine through them. The L/R buttons and bottom and lower side pieces of the mouse however are made of opaque black plastic beneath the gold coloured paint.
Extending / Maintaining the Golden Paintwork
[Text & Images Contain Registered Copyrighted Material of Internetional Business And logistics and its owner(s)]
To allow you to engrave the mouse and also to ensure the mouse is presented with the most realistic trophy award grade metallic gold effect (just in case want to use using this mouse as a prize, trophy or award), the manufacturer only applies a minimal coating of lacquer compared to other mice (the transparent paint coating). This ensures for an ultimate realistic gold effect. Therefore, the paint life is similar to the golden paintwork on trophies you might get at award presentations etc. If you would like to extend the life of the golden paintwork, you can choose to coat the mouse (that is, apply a transparent outer coating of enamel / lacquer / tape to help prevent paint from rubbing off over time). This isn't expensive to do, and we recommend you do this if you use the mouse frequently on a daily basis or if you have very oily hands which makes the paint rub off faster. We performed a lacquer with a $3 can of 'Clear / Transparent' Enamel or Lacquer from a local dollar buys / hardware shop. (In a general sense, clear lacquer / enamel is a varnish that dries by solvent evaporation that produces a hard, durable finish, in any sheen level from ultra matte to a high gloss, and can be further polished as required). If you are really can't be bothered with spray or paint on enamel/lacquer, just use nail polish or clear tape (office tape) to cover the mouse for a flowing gold / tile effect. Before we begin, we recommend you practice the following steps on a smooth empty can or coke bottle first before you actually coat the mouse for real. Firstly, get some lacquer/enamel that dries with a gloss sheen/finish, preferably a simple spray can type like in the photo below as it doesn't require you to apply any excessive heat that can damage the mouse (ie, doesn't require an oven). Cover the 2 holes at the base of the mouse with a layer of soft sticking tape to prevent the lacquer or paintwork from coating/damaging the circuitry inside. Do the same for the 4 oval shaped mice feet. (Use soft sticking tape so you don't peel off the golden paint when you remove the tape). Now cover the scroll wheel with a makeshift paper cone that goes into the grooves beside the mouse wheel so the wheel doesn't get affected or get glued to the frame when the enamel/lacquer dries. Now, if you are spraying on the enamel/lacquer, put the mouse on the top of an empty toilet roll core or an aluminium can in a suitable environment with good ventilation, wear appropriate hand/eye/nose mouth protection as you see fit based on experience and stand upstream from the wind so you don't get hit by the spray; then you can begin to evenly spray on the lacquer or enamel. We recommend you spray slowly and evenly in equal zigzag motions of equal spacing and at the same speed up and down the mouse from the left side all the way to the right side. Spray from a distance of at least 20 cm (more lacquer or enamel may be wasted, but the effect is more even and smoother). It usually isn't necessary to coat the base of the mouse since hands or mouse pads don't usually touch the paintwork there. Once done, let dry for at least 48 hours in as dust free a room as possible- don't touch the mouse, carry it by the base carefully (the toilet roll /metal can it is sitting on). Now, if you are using nail polish or 'paint-on' enamel, just paint it on evenly; it might be harder to get a even effect compared to a spray, but you might end up with a gemstone/'flowing melted gold' look for your mouse.

Our
opinion about its features
Good points:
It is rare, light weight, beautiful, unique, stylish and very accurate and precise. The mirror gold paintwork makes it very look pretty as it is as clear and reflective as a mirror. The smooth scrolling wheel doesn't make any audible clicking with each slight turn of the wheel either. You can also recolour it if you want (remove the feet , screws and spray paint the case separately), colour doesn't affect mouse performance.
Bad points:
Rare, golden coloured objects tend to get stolen; feel free to tie it to the computer. Golden items also tend to be subject to postal and customs inspections (please read shipping section below). The scroll wheel may also feel slightly tight at use at certain positions, which is normal, and becomes easier to turn over time (push the wheel a little to the left or right when turning will help). Repeatedly using oily hands to rub the mouse will cause the paintwork to rub off over time. Oil is similar to paint thinner when it comes to this gold coloured paint (and many other types of paint too). If you want to extend the paint-work's lifespan, or if you really have to use oily hands to use the mouse, simply use nail polish / clear tape (or screen protectors) to cover the parts of the mouse that has the most contact with your oily fingers (usually the L/R button/side grips). If the mouse jumps all over the place, or is too fast, remember to adjust the pointer speed in half if you are upgrading from a lower resolution mouse or switch resolutions (instructions above). The ultra high resolution laser engine makes the mouse pointer move twice as fast than normal mice. The mouse paintwork is also reflective metallic painted, it is not very resistant to scratches compared to other mice or real metal, but scratches are easily fixed during the lacquer/transparent coating as mentioned above.

HOW YOUR ORDER WILL BE PACKAGED :
Your mouse will be sent with minimal postage fuss as you are actually paying less than the real postage and handling price. It will be covered with one layer of bubblewrap Or plastic Or equivalent and packed inside a paper envelope or box. Its relatively durable in most cases but no method is perfect, so if you think it will be insufficient, or are worried it is not enough to protect against damage, You MUST choose additional protective insulation. We can pack it as securely as you want if you pay for the extra packaging materials and labour costs.
AIRPORT SECURITY, CUSTOMS AND POSTAL INSPECTION MISHANDLING ISSUES:
This is usually not a problem; however, we will warn you in advance before you bid; please be aware that a small percentage of buyers (<5%) have reported that their parcels have been opened by the postal and customs service before at airports, or have arrived re-packaged from the way we sent it. Customs or airport security may inspect this package due to it being a metallic object (with EMF+ Mild Ray Shielding) and the fact that it 'looks like it is made of real gold'. Therefore, customs may also 'think' it is made of gold and 'think' it is under-valued on the declaration. If this occurs, customs or airport security may inspect the paintwork, which may involve taking a very tiny piece of the paintwork for sampling, this may appear as a tiny scratch on the mouse, depending on where they do the test (we can't stop this, so don't blame us), also customs or the postal service may handle it roughly, drop it, or poke around inside it during inspection and affect the circuitry; Usually this doesn't occur, but we are letting you know this so you should NOT expect to receive the mouse in a 'perfectly flawless' condition, before you place a bid, you should accept this risk and possibility of unintentional scratches appearing on the mouse during transit, especially if purchasing from overseas. If such damage occurs, do not throw away the packaging; let us know and we may usually be able to provide a little compensation or help you fix the problem (you will be expected to take clear sharp digital photos showing the damage from the day you receive it, so have a digital camera ready). We do not deliberately ship damaged items either and all mice leave our hands fully tested in very good condition with minimal scratches unless advertised otherwise.

 |

Choosing a Risky / uninsured / non registered service is very dangerous for you, the buyer,
