Vintage Japanese Kokeshi Doll - Nodder - Volcano Doll
  • 17cm Tall
  • 50yrs+
This is a wonderful vibrant handmade doll from the 1950s that is created from 2 pieces of wood
with the head joined so that it wobbles freely when you pick it up. Her body is shaped like
a gourd and represents a volcano and has glitter sprinkled over the body, to imitate larva.
The base of the doll still has the original bark on it. The head dress has a lovely chrsyanthemum blossom design on it
 and her body is painted with a floral design complete with a vibrant Japanese character scripted in the centre.

NB- Overall condition is good, although there are signs of age in the paint and wood on this doll. There are some paint chips on the top
of her head.
