Geographie de Histoire Sainte – Geography of Holy History
This original hand-coloured steel-plate engraved map of Geography of Holy History, is from the Cartes Geographiques. Cours d' etudes, Quatrieme Classe (Geographical maps. Course of studies, Fourth Class), Engraved by A. Laurens, Rue St Jacques, 30, Paris, France, c1835. The map measures 41.5cm by 29.5cm (16in by 11.75in), is folded in
middle, Blank on the Reserve, and printed on study paper.
This map
shows Ancient Middle East, with an inset map of the Plan of Ancient Jerusalem. The map shows the Middle East, North-East Africa & South-East Europe divided up into the various states that existed around 2000 years, including Thrace, Mespotamia Babylon, Syria, Persia, Partha, the Assyrian Empire, Armenia, and much more. Also shown is the major cities and major tribes.
Transposed over the map is the names of the three sons of Noah and the areas in which their descendants populated after the Geat Flood. The map has a number of refernces to things/places in the Bible, including a few small drawings of things such as the Pryamids, Noah's Ark after the flood, and Mount Sinia as examples. The map of Jerusalem shows the Walled Old City and the major buildings inside, such as the Palaces' of Herod, David & the Maccabis, the Mansion of the Caliph, and the Temple. Outside the walls is Calvary, Mt Golgotha, the Garden of the Olives or Gethsemane, the Mount of Olives and more. All up a Very Beautiful Looking Map!!
The map has coloured borders, and represents all the major geographic features as well as minature drawings of places of interest, and the
major towns/cities. The
map has been drawn in a very miminal style which makes it quite
different from most other maps of the era, as well as quite beautiful.

Condition Rating System: Near Perfect/Very Good/Good/Fair/Poor. Signs of Use = slight marks/dirtiness from people holding map (Very Minor/Minor/Mild/Fair/Heavy).

Sent by Airmail (5-14 days) in carboard tube package. Can be sent by Registered Mail (about 3 times the cost) or Sea Mail (cheaper, but 6-8 weeks) if you wish - let me know. Up to 5 maps can be sent for same cost, will work out after sale.
PAYMENT: Prefer PayPal. Money Order/Cashiers Check accepted, only in $US or $AUS. With MO/Cheques not in Australian Dollars will occur a fee of $US8 to conver. Item only sent once it fully clears into my account.
IF you wish to pay by Bank Transfer into my account in Australian dollars, ask first and usually I say yes. But I
normally round up to the closest whole dollar (ie $36.65 = $37) and
use the exchange rate on the day of sale not date of payment.
