Description: A VERY RARE, BEAUTIFUL GUADALAJARA IMPRINT ON SILK. Gran folio.Full decorative border, heading of an engraving of the Divine Light. An invitation to the defense of the theses of Felipe N. Barros in logic and metaphysics directed by Luis Medina, dedicated to and before the Bishop of Guadalajara, Diego Aranda. Beautifully printed by Manuel Brambila on silk in Guadalajara, Jalisco. These invitations were a very Mexican custom, dating from the 16th century. Because the material is very delicate, few imprints on silk have survived in good condition.
