Up for auction today, is an 1878 Melbourne Mint young head Gold Sovereign. This coin has been graded and slabbed by NGC as an XF-45. 

The coin exhibits medium wear and still has traces of original luster, overall quite an attractive piece. In my opinion this coin has been harshly graded, but it's a nice XF45 nonetheless.

The opening bid of $275 makes this coin a great buy. As with all Gold Sovereigns, this coin contains very nearly 1/4 ounce (0.2354oz) of pure gold. You can't even buy quarter ounce gold coins from the mint for this price!
