NOTE: ALSO SEE ENLARGED IMAGE AT BOTTOM TO FULLY SEE DETAILS.
<~~~~~~~~ (measures 9" x 7" Inches) ~~~~~~~~>
1898 antique print; view of;
FISHING AT MIDDLE DAM, MAINE.
Offered for auction is this nice authentic 1898 vintage photographic (black and white) picture-print,
(with text-identification right below the image), of:
A nice old glimpse of a vintage Fishing scene at Middle Dam, Mooselookmeguntic Lake, Rangeley Lakes Region, old Maine, showing a man and Mrs. Dr. Cassell and Mrs. Pulman, with a their fish catch, as viewed in the 1890's.
MOUNTING PROCESS:
It has been neatly and carefully, permanently mounted using
high-quality sepia-tone, slightly-textured, light-weight
(Acid-Free/Archival)
card backing-paper (sample shown in my last image at the bottom), and Acid-Free Adhesive,
(which preserves the print,
and makes it sturdy and protects it from
bending and/or creasing, and makes it convenient for matting and/or framing, if the
buyer chooses to do so).
It would look great matted and/or framed or placed in a collector's/historian's scrapbook
(as a complimentary piece that might 'fit' nicely with a related locality or theme collection).
The whole print-sheet measures approx. (7" x 9") inches (edge-to-edge, a standard-frame size), and the image alone
is about (6" x 8") inches.
[It has sufficient border-spacing as shown, so that it can be matted first, to fit a specific size frame, without loosing any of the image content, or as the buyer wishes].
SOURCE:
This is an original-era quality book-plate, half-tone print; ('Half-Tone' being a quality
type of printing process used in those days, which produced crisp clear photo images
on paper, and looked very close to a real-photo - It is Not a Post-Card or a "Real-Photo",
(just to be clear), taken and carefully extracted directly from a scarce old
portfolio/volume of {old Maine}, scenes and views of the early 1890's, and prior.
It was printed on thick quality semi-glossy paper in 1898, therefore this actual print the buyer will receive
is over 110-years-old (and Not a recent reprint, copy or any other type of modern reproduction).
DOCUMENTATION:
Also; Printing and publishing documentation will be sent with the print for authentication
and proof of age verification.
CONDITION/GRADING: Some mild age-toning to the print surface:
[Specific Flaws of This Print;
A few small mild creases, mostly on white border and a few light, mild rub/scuffs/marks, and faint foxing mostly on parts of border-edge space,
hardly noticeable, and not affecting the image].
It is Graded in overall Fine Condition, with minimal noticeable flaws, other than
those mentioned in 'Specifics' above, (also any other flaws that may appear, if any,
and not otherwise mentioned were probably on the original photograph prior to printing).
SHIPPING INFO: It will be shipped safely and securely in clear Plastic sheet-protector
(with documentation placed in the back), with thick stiff cardboard backing to
protect from any damage. Also, we ship withing one business days of receipt of payment via
Paypal or other arrangements made.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
This would make a great collectible and/or decorative print/item for a business,
an office or any room with a historic {old Maine} theme or a great meaningful gift
for someone with historic/family ties and/or personal interest to that locality,
or subject itself.
FOOTNOTE: Please Note: Any blotchiness, color-bleeding/discoloration and/or
lines/spots that may be showing on the image(s), (that were not mentioned, as imperfections
or flaws in the Condition section), are scanner-created imperfections and from background,
and NOT on the original, which looks even better than my scan(s) can demonstrate, which was scanned with a Low-Med Resolution setting.
