18th C. MEISSEN Table Snuff Box w/ Liberty Portrait

ANTIQUE (C.1780's) MEISSEN TABLE SNUFF BOX W/ HAND PAINTED GRISAILLE DEPICTION OF LADY LIBERTY 

Up for your consideration is this very fine and antique (c.1780's) table snuff box by Meissen. Box measures 3.5 inches long x 2 7/8" wide x 1 3/4" tall. Sports a lovely and unique mustard yellow color and a central medallion with a hand-painted grisaille depiction of Lady Liberty carrying a torch on her right hand and wheat spikes on her left. This beautiful and unique box is found in good condition (please note hinged bronze mounts do not close hermetically, so top cover lays slightly raised from bottom (this may easily be addressed by a professional restorer). Also, there are some light hair-line cracks to porcelain surface and some old repairs. Underside is marked for Meissen with two blue crosses under glaze. A very attractive and antique miniature table (snuff) box that needs a little TLC. It is being offered for a low opening bid and no reserve.
