The card shows a soldier pointing to a winding road which is covered with the place names of battles: Scarpe, Arras, Somme, Ancre, Ypres 2nd, Armentieres, Meteren, Aisne, and Marne. A verse to the bottom corner: "The Hun called us comtemptible, We groused but did not quail. They have found us irresitible, Just look along the trail". Printed on the back of the four page card "Designed and composed by Sapper A St L. Wadmore & Driver E.S. Knell". Published by Raphael Tuck and Sons Ltd. Size 168 x 112 mm with a red tassle to one edge. Unused inside. Slight wear to corners and edges, but no creases. Good condition.
