1920's Small Golf Girl Embossed Die Cut Greeting Card

Description ~ This golf card is significant for the scarcity and the size. It is a very unusual size at 2 by 3 inches (not including the die cut) and very small for a greeting card. These small sized golf greeting cards are extremely scarce. It is die cut, embossed, and a folding card. This piece is very unique and that along with the scarcity makes for a very valuable card that is not in many peoples collections, even advanced ones. In the past ten years this is only the third example I have discovered and offered. The previous two examples sold quickly and have been in collections since.

The graphics on this card are amazing and are very indicitive of the quality printing of the period. This card was most likely produced in the 1920's and that is the latest date it could be and it is possible this was produced in the 1900 era. This card is in very good condition for its age and considering it is die cut. This card has beautiful color and the card fold is strong. There is a small crease where the golf clubs extend. Overall this card is in very good condition and displays beautifully. The inside of the card reads "I love to golf...But then, Oh my...I love to love...When you are nigh. It has been inscribed with the name Ray in pencil on the back flap and the back also displays some grubiness from age. This is a fantasic collectors piece that would be at home in an advanced collection and a cornerstone showcase piece. This one might go quickly! Interesting fact: Die cuts did not usually survive well due to the fragile and weaker edges and stress points.
