Superb original and early modernist Anglepoise lamp designed by George Carwardine for Herbert Terry & Sons. This model dates to the late 1930s when the 2 base step model was first introduced whilst retaining distinctive early features such as the slimmer perforated shade and textured paint finish on the shade and base. Excellent original condition with just a few paint chips here and there and one very tiny ‘ding’ on the shade. Full working order with original ‘Crabtree’ brown bakelite bulb holder, rewired with braided silk flex. Holds all positions well and measures approx 3 ft (1 metre) at full height. An exceptionally fine early Anglepoise offered with no reserve.
