From the pattern envelope sleeve:
'Talented young Italian designer creates clothes with simple elegance and grat dignity. The design evolves as he cuts the toile and works with fabric; color is important for the line and spirit of his clothes. Wool is a favorite fabric. To Forquet, the object of designing is to beautify'.

Federico Forquet made a spectacular debut in 1962 and was called the "Italian Dior" by the press. He dressed princesses, & actresses. His atelier closed in 1972 and he has had a very successful career designing gardens and interiors since then.

Loose fitting straight step in dress with front button closing
has contrast self bias collar.
Short sleeves or sleeveless.
Shallow pockets in side front seams.
Self belt extending from darts above waistline.
