1963 EJ Holden Special – 32000 original miles
This car is in excellent all original condition. It has a genuine 32000 miles on it. As you would expect with such low mileage the interior is in perfect condition with no marks or scratches. The steering wheel has no chips or scratches and the chrome is as new as is all of the dash and surrounds. The dash pad is still nice and soft with no cracks. The car has never had any stereo or radio put in it.
The exterior is in very good condition both paint and panels. The car has never had any rust repairs made to it so you can be sure that no rust repairs or bog is in the car that will come out later. The car has also been rust proofed regularly throughout its life. The only rust in the whole car is in the passenger side rear floor pan but it is not major and could be left as is or if you really want to you could spot weld it or get a new floorpan put in. All of the other floorpans and panels are totally rust free. The paint on the car is in very good condition with only a few minor chips. The only damage to the body work is a small dent in the right hand side rear quarter panel which could be panel beaten easily as it has good access. There is also a few small dents at the very back of the car underneath the rear chrome bumper which can be seen in the photo’s. I am being very picky and highlighting all of the blemishes to ensure that there are no surprises with the car. All of the bad points highlighted are very minor. In the hands of someone experienced with panel work it would probably only take a day to fix all of the above.
The mechanicals are all original and in very good working order as they have had such low mileage however with age the rubber components perish. As a result I have just replaced the clutch slave and master cylinder, brake cylinders and gearbox seal. I have also replaced all fluids in the last month including all steering and ball joints, diff, gearbox, brakes, clutch and engine. The brakes have just been serviced so they all work very well (drums all round) and wheel bearings have been repacked. The gearbox is a 3 speed manual which shifts without any noise or crunching. The engine is the original 138ci 6cylinder which has had regular oil changes (currently penrite oil). The complete exhaust has recently been replaced. I have also just replaced the fan belt, water pump, thermostat, temperature sensor and reconditioned the radiator. I have also had the fuel tank rust proofed, cleaned and coated inside and out with a special ceramic coating (POR15) so it will not rust and does not have any leaks in it. I have receipts for all of the above work. The car drives as a 32000 mile car should.
This car is a genuine original with no modifications made to it and has only been maintained in its original form. The car still has Olympic crossply tyres on the front but has new crosplys on the rear. The spare tyre is also the original Olympic crossply. The reason why I am selling it is because it is my only car and I cannot use it as a daily driver as it is too good for this use. Anyone who is genuinely interested is more than welcome to come and inspect the car. You will not be disappointed with it nor will you find any surprises come up later on. The car comes with the original books and also still has the original sales sticker on the dash board. (The car spent most of its life in Sydney and was purchased at Seville brothers in Hurstville).
