Rust free 1969 falcon 500
This car was taken off the road in 1986, had all new hang on panels purchased from ford in 87(doors,front guards,bonnet,boot)they have never seen the road or been rained on.The shell is completely rust free in the sills ,around back windows,floors,firewall radiator support ,rear quarters EVERYWHERE. The only filler in the car is in the passenger side rear quarter ,I removed a section when I bought the car as I could not see why it had been used as there doesnt appear to be a major dent feeling the inside of the quarter ,it is definetly not rust related ,you can see it in one of the photos. Apart from that there is only a few very shallow pressure dents in the roof and one in the drivers door(and i mean very minor I just thought I would mention them to describe the car as accurately as possible!) the car is a panel beaters dream and will be very easy to prepare for painting. Unfortunately the car had a bad spray job in 89 (although it has preseved the body very well I suppose) it will need stripping as it has blisters over alot of the car.
It comes with a heap of good parts including very clean original xw fairmont door trims black(not painted only a few minor tears ,and the chrome peeling)xw fairmont buckets needing retrim(no back seat,no carpet) A 302 windsor that i was told by the previous owner is very low k's that looks very clean under the rockers, and a C4 auto that was supposed to have been rebuilt, however they have been sitting for 20+ years so would have to describe them as condition unknown as dumb as that sounds! The engine is only sitting in the engine bay and the auto is in the boot, a set of windsor into xy extractors that have surface rust but appear sound. A very good xw grill with painted black centre and repro GT badge. Tail lights that are good but not perfect, front indicators(one with dent) front and rear bumpers that are straight and would clean up ok ,but not show quality (one has overriders).There is also lots more parts including door rubbers that have never been fitted and still feel soft ,door glass and quarter vent windows and boxes of other parts that not all are in the pictures.The car has standard borg warner diff ratio unknown.
I have owned 9 of these cars in my life and this one is the best by a country mile ,I know it is the usual line but it is a regretful sale as I know I will never find another one like it.But due to a promotion at work I will struggle to complete it and this car definetely should be enjoyed.
The price of REPRO hang on panels alone is about 5K and that is repro these are basically NOS, you wont find better.This is the perfect starting point for a big dollar GT lookalike (and we all know what they are worth these days) build a XW or sell the xw parts (add it up thay are worth a bit) and build an XY for maximum return.
