1978 Jaguar XJ6 Series 2

This vehicle is undoubtedly an astonishingly sleek classic family car for on-road cruising, the result of the best of Great Britain's automotive engineering. Features include AC, PW, PAS, CDL, AM/FM Stereo and cassette player, dual muflers and fuel tanks, and original wheel (3) hubs. It comes with an extra head gasket (new), LRV mirror, new front badges (extra), and battery making it an unfinished project; and service history, and manuals (workshop and general). The Jag is presently NOT running.

It has had oil change and a new water heater value fitted. It failed the Blue-Slip Test due to:

(a) inoperative (i) right-hand tail light, (ii) number plate light, and (iii) wiper washer motor;

(b) minor engine oil (not current) and exhaust leaks;

(c) headgasket is blown at 2nd and 3rd cylinder (of 6-cylinder engine), and possibly the corresponding sections of the engine head; 

(c) slight wear of both tie rod ends and front driver's seat belt;

(d) loose fitting (i) front driver’s seat, and (ii) ceiling lining; and

(e) rusts in some spots.

More importantly, the suspensions, alternator, gear box, brakes, radiator, carburettors (2), differential and the the engine (with the exception of minor oil leak) are all in excellent condition.

It was first registered in the UK in 1978 (most papers on its history are with seller). It was then shipped to Australia and has been registered and used in three states- viz VIC, NSW, and QLD.

This Jag was purchased for own do-up and keep. The vendor has spend some funds on it (parts and the mechanic). Unfortunately the owner has recently being subjected to an array of personal predicaments leaving him in a cash strap position. This sale is therfore a reluctant one.

As with all auction vehicles, this is a wholesale transaction and therefore this Jag XJ6 is not supplied with RWC, registration or warranty of any kind. It's strickly on an as-is-where-is basis. It's available for sale through other mediums and so is subject to the prior sale. Payment in full is required within 3 days of acceptance of the highest bid.

Your bid will constitute your agreement to the above auction terms and conditions without exception. Payment could be made directly to the vendor's bank account on-line. The Jag XJ6 will be supplied with Revs certificates of clear title. Pickup will be at the buyer's own expense. 

NB:  This Jag XJ6 has been re-listed. 

Forgot to mention that there a few scratch marks (from kids passing by with toys) on the paint work, which are unnoticeable from some steps away from the car.
