1988 Ibanez Radius R-540 R540 Red H-S-S Edge tremolo

This guitar is the first year they made them. 1988. They stopped in 1991. I have never seen another Ibanez with the USA neck plate. I don’t know if that means it is a USA made guitar. But it doesn’t say made in Japan anywhere. It also has the small dot neck without the “custom made” 22nd fret, just like the J-1000. In 1989 they used the “custom made” on the 22nd fret.

This guitar comes to me from the 2nd owner. It is virtually new with no play wear. Besides a ding on the top edge and a little ding on the back, it is Near Mint. There is also some oxidation on the knobs and strap buttons. But that is pretty normal for these. It comes in the original hard case and the nylon bushing tremolo bar.

This guitar will be the highlight of a radius collection. I doubt there is one much cleaner out there.
