A beautiful, all steel Persian Jamabiya dagger typical to the Qjar period in the second half of the 19th century. 10 1/2" curved and double edged glade with two central fullers, forged from pattern welded Damascus steel (note the blade photos) Classical "I" shaped hilt. The hilt and the scabbard are inlaid (Koftgari) with silver in a typical design of the period. The blade is in very good condition with minor pitting only. About 75% of the silver inlay remains. This beautiful Jambiya comes from Artzi's personal collection (Oriental Arms) several years ago. An excellent addition to any collection. |
