You know the situation all too well. You've just purchased your new satellite dish and associated equipment to pick up your favourite satellite TV programming. You're all excited; you've mounted the dish, unpacked the receiver and set it up near your TV. You have then realised that to get the system to work you need to run the coax cable and this seems an impossible task because of the lack of access inside the cavity walls, roof space or underneath  your house. A. One of the units is used as a frequency selective splitter at the TV end to split the IF and terrestrial signal from the cable. You connect the TV output to the input of your TV or your terrestrial set top box. The other output (IF), is connected to the LNB input of your satellite receiver – this output of the diplexer splitters allows the power from the satellite box to run up the cable to power the LNB. These units also allow 22khz/diseqC commands to pass through.

B. The second unit is used at a convenient position on your existing cable as a diplexer for your existing antenna and satellite dish. The input from your antenna is connected into the TV Antenna port of the diplexer, and the LNB output from your dish is connected to the IF input.

So there you have it – the one cable solution to be able to run your satellite dish and antenna without having to pull through another cable through your walls.
