2 x Burmantoft Cristopher Dresser Opium Pipes, Superb

 Here we have two Burmantofts Pottery Hookah pipes (AZURE) in common use
throughout the Victorian and early Edwardian eras, designed by the only
specialized expert in the field,upon who'm the potteries could rely for these
 often quirky pharmaceutical product designs, Dr. Christopher Dresser.
Here are two water pipes from an extensive collection of smoking
paraphernalia designed by this wizard, Dresser.So good was he at
designing the safe efficient burn, cooling and mixing of smoke, that
a friend working in Peshawa (Opium triange) Pakistans tribal territory
during the 1960, recognized major pieces in my collection , as ones
he had seen for sale in  Peshawa's shop windows!.They were used
in conjunction with bungs or grommets and brass ended glass siphon tubes
I will be listing a few more pieces, I do'nt like to dispose of items from the
80 or so piece collection, but these two are finest quality examples,
many became unmarked as opium became demonized corresponding
to the promotion of mechanised mass militarism,  Aubry Beardsley
was not a fan, of this dubious new direction or its exponents.
These pieces date to the mid to late 1900's both in good order
small chip fill professionally restored on larger piece, not noticeable

I jest sols an ancient bronze tray for £3.50 unles this lot reaches 50%
of these projected final values , the lot will be de listed in 24 hours
The fact that 80 Dresser pieces has attracted no interest convinces
me ebay filter out bids and make items invisible to searches, if they
are payed enough!My company redesigned the loudspeaker in 1990
patents still pending, ripped off by 2 companys so far, who obviously
don't want one to have a look in!The collection is available in its
entirety for anyone prepared to submit a sensible offer, the Minton
'sucriere'!!?? being the most valuable piece a £1450, I just seen a snide
sell for more than that.Can you hear me mother.

 the smaller is perfect, both sound apart from rim chip fill shown on larger.
Dr.Dresser would not recognize today's modernity, its designs or moral values
A traditionally free spirited exponent of scientifically brilliant mathematically imaginative
dreating, this  endeared him to both Nicholas Pevsner, without who's brilliant
recognition of Dresser's genius, the great man may have been forgotten, much
like many markers for civilization among which is opium.

It is unfortunate that China's investment bankers seek to destroy the opium fields of Bhurma and
cultivate (I) oli palm plantations, destroying both the ancient topography agriculturally smoking
and with it Neolithic culture of Burmah.
