The beep test may also be known as the 'multi-stage fitness test', a 'bleep test', a '20m shuttle run test' or a 'shuttle test'. The beep test is well known for fitness testing and improving fitness levels. It is also used by the Australian Police, Fire and Defence force for recruitment and physical fitness testing purposes.
The beep test has 21 levels with a number of shuttle runs in each level. The shuttles should be exactly 20m apart. On the first beep, you start running continuously between the two lines, placeing your foot on the line on or before each beep. The time slightly decrease each beep, becoming faster as you go on. Your score should be recorded once you cannot place your foot on the line before or on the beep two times in a row.
