Installing Pandora bead inserts: There are two ways to install these inserts. The first way is by making your bead hole slightly smaller than the insert and then pressing the inserts into the bead with a press. The second was is by making the bead hole slightly larger than the inside lip of the insert and gluing the inserts in using a good jeweler’s glue or a waterproof household glue that is made for glass and metal. We prefer the second method because it works very well and requires less tools and fuss.

The inside lip of the bead inserts are 4.82 mm in width. Our  Pandora Mandrels are 4.75 mm in width. With the use of a thin layer of mandrel release compound on the mandrel while making your bead, that difference allows for a snug fit of the insert into the bead without using a press. Just push them in gently by hand with a good glue inserted inside, and you’re done.

Note: Don’t use Superglue or epoxy. Superglue can loosen up and can discolor the metal, and epoxy can become brittle over time and become yellow. Only use a good jeweler’s glue or a waterproof household glue that is made for glass and metal. These generally remain flexible and resist discoloring.
