Since 1994, the PNC (postal numismatic coin cover) has become a highly sought after collectible, by coin and stamp collectors, alike. Often featuring special issue coins (uncirculated, unique finishing features, first time events, etc), the PNC has become a way of bringing together the best of stamping and numismatic collecting.
With over 30 different PNC offerings now having been issued via Australia Post, with several more privately sponsored (ie: APEC 2007) issues, the PNC is fast shaping as a unique blend of hobby, collection and investment. And this doesn’t include the numerous blended PNCs (or created coin covers) now being developed by enterprising individuals, coin companies, and by issuing authorities.
Today, collecting PNC covers with FDC cancellations is a fast emerging hobby with its own momentum, and collector following.
