Item Description

In 2009 we celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Australian Citizenship. The design captures the unity and diversity of modern Australia and symbolizes the celebration of citizenship, commitment and pride in being Australian. The coin features seven figures - seven men from seven countries who became Australian citizens 60 years ago.

The packaging displays a photgraph taken in 1949, of six of the seven new citizens in Canberra. Since 1949 more than four million people have become Australian citizens. Designed by Wojceiech Pietranik and featuring the 'M' privymark. The composition is Aluminium Bronze weighing 9 grams and 25 mm diameter.
