Gold Vermeil is a full precious metal product. This product is 24Kt gold triple coated over a solid Sterling Silver base.Unlike plated gold which is gold electro plated over a cheaper base metal - this is a high quality 24Kt gold triple layered over solid Sterling Silver. If you have allergies to tin alloys or nickel Gold Vermeil findings and beads are a much more economical alternative to solid gold.The pricing reflects the quality, you get what you pay for. Plated Items,also in the store, are lower priced than these vermeil items.  

I tend not to stock 'gold filled' items as they are not a full precious metal, they are gold over a brass metal base. The gold filed tends to turn darker when the gold on the top of the brass item wears with time. Sterling silver is a soft precious metal so when the high content of quality gold in these 24ct/24kt items is placed over it,it tends not to wear as quickly and will not turn that dark brass colour. 24 carat/Karat Gold Vermeil is a great alternative to full gold as the price is a lot more affordable yet it appears to be a close representation of the full gold items.
