Nova 28 Yacht.
Double diagonal marine ply. Fiberglass sheathed. Very seaworthy, structually sound. No signs of rot (inspection welcome). The yacht is based the popular Nova 28 design from New Zealand with some minor changes. Believed to have been built in 1976 by J.Brown Boatbuilders in Adelaide. The yacht has undergone renovation and is allmost ready to sail. Can easily be completed in time for summer by any handyman, all the hard work has been done. Deck has recently has been regripped in the last few years. Yacht has just been extensivly repainted. All areas above the water line have been repainted with Jotun Imperite 300 two pack linear polyureathane. Interior has just been varnished and painted. New Windows. Some deck and cabin hardware (included) still needs to be refitted. Yacht is currently out of the water in West Footscray. Inspection is welcome. Engine: 8hp Yanmar 8YSE Diesel Electric Start (with crank handle for emergencies) Runs Well Sails: 1 main in good condition. 1 spinnaker in good condition. 2-3 headsails in average condition. Equipment: Muir Manual Anchor Winch. Anchor & Chain - Plow Style. 2 x Barlow No 18 Two speed sheet winches. 4 x Barlow No 5 Halyard winches. Cabin Lights Fire extinguisher Compass Metho Stove Dodger - With new windows fitted. Bow Rail Stern Rail. Fredricsson ball bearing mainsheet traveler. Stainless steel mast stays - unknown age but look to be in good condition. Mast & Spreaders Masthead. Stainless steel fuel tank. Water bladder with through deck filler. Galley sink has Whale electric water pump. Cushions 240v inverter (works but is a bit rusty) Fire extinguisher Wire to rope halyards (usable but a bit tired) Spinnaker pole. 12v Heated mattress (cushion). Assorted fittings, including fairleads, screws, bolts, nuts, cam cleats (around 10), cars for jib sheet track. Mainsheet. Bronze chainplates. No boom. Boom fittings (other than gooseneck) are included. Booms are readily available and appropriate ones are usually available cheaply on ebay or can be bought new or second hand from a dealer. Foward hatch cover is missing. Cover is flat and square and a novice carpenter could easily fabricate a replacment (photos of the original are available). No head (toilet), but appropriate through hulls are allready fitted. Internal wiring is marine grade tinned copper wire. Mast: Aluminium, with integrated mainsail track and conduit to protect cables from internal halyards. Set up for internal halyards, comes with spreaders, attachement for boom gooseneck and for spinnaker pole. Masthead and mast base are included. Masthead has bronze sheaves; has been set up for wire/rope halyards but sheaves appear to be wide enough to allow all rope spectra halyards to be used. Mast foot is cast aluminium and has integrated blocks to allow halyards and control lines to be brought back to the cockpit. |
