Here we have for Auction...... 2 x 1Gb of DDR2-667 RAM, consisting of 2 x BRAND NEW NCP 1Gb DDR2-667 RAM Modules. Also known as PC-5300. This DDR2 RAM is manufactured by NCP, one of the worlds leading DRAM suppliers. This product is top-of-the-line in terms of quality and reliability.

Buying two 1Gb is perferrable than 1 x 2Gb RAM module, as two modules will run in "dual channel" mode - supported by most Notebooks these days. Also, 2Gb modules are generally quite incompatible. Many systems reject 2Gb modules, so you should expect to have to return your 2Gb modules. 1Gb Modules on the other hand, will work in 99% of DDR2 Notebooks on the market.

Some important points when buying RAM:

1. Make sure it fits into your Notebook. (These NCP Modules are 1Gb DDR2 with 200 Pins).
2. Stay safe, and only use good branded modules, as some weird low-cost varieties are very incompatible.
3. Buy from a vendor (such as e Computer Wholesale) who offers warranty. Many sharks sell faulty/incompatible modules on Ebay to dispose of them.
4. Don't pay retail! Many stores sell DDR RAM for 100% margin. Buy here, for a wholesale price.

How to know if this RAM will work in your machine: A quick way to know if these modules will fit into your Notebook is to check the currently installed modules in your Notebook, and look for the following markings.......

* DDR2, DDR533, DDR667, PC-4300 or PC-5300 <-- If you see this, this RAM is probably suitable for your PC.

* PC-100, PC-133, DDR266, DDR333,, DDR400, PC-2100, PC-2700, PC-3200 <-- If you see these Marking, this RAM is probably unsuitable for you.
