The main aim when shielding a Guitar is to have a continuous electrical shield with complete conductivity over the whole surface area of the shielding foil, from one cut piece of foil overlapped with another. The easiest cleanest way to achieve this is to have a foil with a conductive adhesive, which is a special type adhesive with conductive properties just like that of the metal surface. The cost to purchase this legitimate conductive backed foil is usually a lot higher than the cheaper substitutes with non conductive adhesive, so you may pay more, but the reason is that for foil overlapping shielding purposes, it is a far superior product to get the job done properly, with a minimum of fuss.

The copper foil selling here was purchased from a reputable Tape and Foil distributor, at a higher premium cost to non conductive adhesive foil. It has also been double checked by myself using the only true means to authenticate conductive adhesive, and that is with a multi meter set to test circuit continuity, it passes with flying colors, so therein the quality guarantee is assured.
