This Camphor Laurel is cut from the sought after heartwood and carries good colour with verigated streaks. It has been kiln dried and then air dried for two years. Camphor Laurel turns easily and it will give a good polish. Camphor laurel is the tree camphor comes from and you will notice the clean sinus clearing aroma of camphor as soon as you start turning it. The Chinese diggers brought cuttings with them to the gold fields in the early days and trees now grow everywhere in this part of Queensland.
