FABULOUS ART DECO VINTAGE
SMALL WARDROBE
Circa late 1920's-1930's
PICK UP ONLY FROM PORT ADELAIDE
This fabulous small wardrobe is on casters for easy movement.
Made of solid and veneer pine, it is painted white and stencilled with gold stars on the outside.
When I first bought it it was painted in larges stripes of cream and green and it reminded me of a vintage beach hut.
With its curved lines it also reminds me of an
Art Deco Vintage Refrigerator.
It has been a great wardrobe for my guest room and could be use for the same or for a small girl's bedroom.
It has a rack for hanging clothes plus shelves for shoes/bags etc.
On the door is a very quaint little curved shelf which creates the look of a small 'dressing table'. There is a place to stick a mirror tile above the shelf. These are readily available from tile shops.

1.80m HIGH X 76cm WIDE (inside) X 40.5cm DEEP (inside)
CONDITION
Due to its age and the many layers of paint this wardrobe has had over the years, the paint is beginning to peel and lift off as you can see in the pictures. It could be easily stripped to begin a fresh new life and receive a new coat of paint or you may want to leave it to show the light colour of the pine underneath. Would be great partly stripped and given a Shabby Chic look.
Some of the moulding on the side at the bottom is damaged and has been painted over. This could easily be replaced. There is no lock or key. The knob was put there for decoration and to open and close the door. The wood is sound and solid.
Whatever you do to it, this will become a favourite and unusual piece of furniture which is sure to receive many comments and compliments.
