Brand NEW 4-port USB Network Server Hub (USB over IP), for USB storage and USB device sharing
These USB Servers feature 4 USB 2.0 ports (with support for USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 devices) and can share your USB devices, such as printers, scanners and USB-drives, over your network. They're great for situations where you have printers or other USB devices in different rooms in the house, or different locations across the office. No longer do you have to move to a different PC to print or to access shared files on a USB drive.
You can connect any storage device with a USB interface, so your USB thumb-drives, USB single-card readers, USB hard drives, and USB enclosures can all become accessible over your network (Only one storage device is accessible by a single user at any time). You can connect the adapter directly to a computer's NIC, to a wired router or to a wireless router - giving you complete control over how and where your files and devices are available. You can even use the adapter to move files between a storage device and a computer with disabled or missing USB ports.
Some operating systems, such as Windows, will let you share a USB connected device with others on the network, but it requires a PC near the device, and that the host PC always be turned on. And many security experts do not recommend File and Printer sharing under Windows. These devices do not require any dedicated PC for the USB devices, and as such, give you greater flexibility in how you locate and access your USB devices, and they also save power because you don't need to have a host PC turned on 24/7.
The adapter's USB port can power most 2.5" USB drives and any low-power USB Storage device, and the device uses just a fraction of the power required by a laptop or PC. The unit runs on just 5V, and includes Power and Link indicators.
With these adapters, you can instantly share photos from a thumb-drive or memory card (with a USB card-reader), or files from a portable USB hard-drive on your network.
We also have a single-port USB adapter with NAS capabilities such as UPnP (including xBox 360 and iTunes support), FTP, SMB and storage device user access control. Please see our other items for details.
Please check your printer manufacturers website for print-server compatibility.
