SPECIAL FEATURES : These portable sized, flat, smooth and clear screen protectors offer stretch free, residue free, washable and reusable protection for almost all screens and surfaces large and small, and offer smooth clear results superior to many screen protectors on the market - We tested it! (Just look at the clear, flat glass like, bubble free results in the pictures below)

For Any Screen [Text & Images Contain Registered Copyrighted Material of Internetional Business And logistics and its owner(s)]
Previously specially cut for Laptop screens and PDA's, they are now available in smaller size for you to customise to your device. Now you don't have to buy a new protector for every device. Just get these sheets and cut them to size, even for a device that never thought could have screen protectors! ; Especially portable devices like Mp3 players, Mobile phones, Small LCD Screens, Touch screens, Watches, Keypads, Digital Camera LCD screens, or pretty much any surface really. The flatter the surface, the more incredible the crystal clear glass-like the result.
Big enough to cut them to size !
No matter what size your small portable handheld device is, the size we offer should fit pretty much most mini screens on the market. If these aren't large enough, we should have other sizes at our other auctions.
How Big is it? Can it fit my screen? Which Size do i need?
It will be able to cover five rectangular areas of 9.9cm x 5.9cm. If all you have is the screen size in inches, we suggest you measure the length by the width to avoid misconceptions as stated in the diagram below. Of course, you can connect the sheets side by side if you want to, but there may be a faint borderline visible as a result.

Much needed Protection for many situations
Once your screen receives permanent damage, its usually too late. These Screen protectors may save you a lot of money in the future when you want to resell your item as they can help protect your screen or surface from damage in advance, from damage caused by intentional or accidental contact with sharp objects, corrosive chemicals, liquids and other substances which leave a permanent mark on your screen. This can potentially increase the lifespan of your screen from daily wear and tear.
There are many situations where the screen protector will help protect against damage. These include scratches caused by your screen brushing against your keys in your pocket (especially with PDA's, phones, Mp3 players etc), or by using an worn out or home-made stylus pen with your PDA or Pocket PC. Damage is also not limited to scratches, but can also involve chemical damage caused from kids who like to assault your screen or draw or paint on the screen with permanent markers. They are also handy if you accidentally drop your device against a corner of a table with the screen hitting a sharp corner.
If you have a LCD screen, touch the screen. You may notice that may be made of soft plastic with a rubbery consistency. One scratch on most soft LCD screens mean that fixing it up is pretty much impossible unless you replace it. You can't really file the damage crater down to size or fill the dent it. It will usually look far worse.. We know that first hand as we have experienced it and had to replace the entire LCD screen. These screen protectors can significantly reduce the level of damage to the actual screen from sharp impacts of moderate energy, and usually fully protects against light to moderate scratches from general use and storage, and a good LCD screen may make its resell value much higher.

Advanced Adhesive, Residue free, Reusable and Washable
These protectors do not leave residue on your screen once removed, and do not damage your screen. The adhesive used is NOT like a paper sticker or sticky clear office /packing tape adhesive. It is designed not to leave residue. If done properly, it does not leave a tell tale mark when applied and the screen and the protector looks like a single layer with the screen as though the protector is not there at all. The adhesive actually changes shape very very slightly to fill in very tiny microscopic grooves on the screen that may give some screens a matt appearance.. (it won't work for dust or some scratches) The adhesive is partially embedded into the actual screen protector's hard polyester layer, so it doesn't wash off. It is applied onto the film in a layer and manner that allows it to create a seamless bond with the surface. It doesn't dissolve in water either. So the protector film may also be run under soap and the tap to rid of light dust and re-applied without affecting the adhesive, and when done carefully with soap or lubricant, it will not damage the adhesive coating. (Scratching the adhesive will usually ruin it). Instructions to wash the screen protector are stated below.

Adhesive Strength
To give you an approximate understanding of the strength of the adhesive, we ran a adhesive strength test on the screen protector. A strip of 5cm wide screen protector, about 20 cm long was applied a glass panel on the ceiling to mimic the smooth surface of a LCD screen. We hung a 500 gram weight from the corner of the longest end of the screen protector, and the weight peeled the screen protector off the glass panel at a rate of around 1cm per second. the screen protector also peeled off using much lighter weights, but at a much slower rate. Hopefully, with this data you can gauge the strength of the adhesive in your mind to see if it is suitable for your screen. We estimate a 10cm wide screen protector will require double the strength mentioned above, and a 25cm wide screen protector will require 5 times the strength etc...,Much less force strength is required if you want to peel this screen protector off more slowly, which is recommended to prevent damage to the applied surface. Please note that different surfaces will vary the adhesive's strength, and this is just an approximate guide.

Invisible Results
These protectors when applied correctly, are super flat like glass and super smooth and you won't even see the adhesive because it is so evenly made. Other screen protectors may have micro bumps or grooves that distort the image of high resolution devices. This protector is therefore a must if you use a super high resolution tablet PC or PDA. Also, because it is super flat without the air escape micro bumps, the application needs to be done carefully to avoid air bubbles and trapped dirt which will be noticeable. Problems rarely occur, but when they do, it is easy to overcome. If you have problems with application, you can solve it by ensuring the surface is very clean and smooth or by using certain lubricants as a last resort at your own discretion, which may help result in excellent clear bubble free results.

Increases Contrast + Directional Anti-Glare
If you had cataract before (an eye condition) , you may understand what we mean by directional anti glare - Imagine shining a piece of glass and a piece of white paper with a bright spotlight beam. No matter which direction you look, the piece of paper will appear glaring. But the glass doesn't look glaring at all from most directions unless in the direct line of sight of the spotlight reflection. In large environments with bright lighting, the combined glare can often overpower the small light source for various pocket LCD Screens as shown in the diagram below, making it hard to see from any angle because the entire screen surface gets white (eg, it may look like the contrast just got worse 10 fold !) therefore, because the screen protector is reflective like glass, the light from the ambient environment doesn't 'light up' the screen itself, instead, it is either absorbed or reflected off the screen. Therefore, you can position your LCD at various angles so it can be viewed without any glare at all even if a spotlight is shining directly on it - that is, if you position it so the reflection of the spotlight doesn't get into your eyes etc..

(Picture: Screen protector material in A3 size cut down for a 15" screen , peeled half way back to show difference between glare from a camera flash,)
Durability / Rigidity [Text & Images Contain Registered Copyrighted Material of Internetional Business And logistics and its owner(s)]
How durable are these screen protectors?: The screen protector is made of medium hard polyester sheeting and is stretch free. This means that there is little chance of bubble formation or crease formation due to you pulling the screen protector during application. It is about as rigid as 7 to 12 layers of standard clear tape (also known as packing tape, sticky tape scotch tape etc...) stuck over each other. Not incredibly hard, and not as Soft as tape either. These screen protectors, are very smooth initially and help absorb impact or scratches that would have otherwise scratched your screen. Therefore as they absorb a lot of damage on behalf of your real screen, they take on damage as anyone would expect, and they have limited scratch resistance. Frequent use of a stylus or having dust / microscopic dirt on your screen even while writing with a brand new PDA stylus will also likewise cause fine lines to appear over time. Fine lines don't really show up on an illuminated LCD Screen, and the screen protector we use with our Dell x51V PDA is intact and near scratch free after 1 year because we use the tap-touch keyboard on screen instead of scribbling with your stylus. As this screen protector starts out pretty much scratch free. It is meant for people who would rather write on a smooth screen protector and accept fine invisible scratches over time, rather than risk scratching their actual real expensive LCD screen permanently.

How do i use it?
What Equipment would I need?
1. A screen to cover
2. Some good anti static cleaning cloth to clean the screen (optional, not required)
3. A few drops of water, oil or lubricant to go between the screen and the screen protector s if you are a lot of trouble with bubbles when applying screen protectors (optional, not required)
4. A Pen/Marker, scissors, sharp blade or pen knife, ruler or sliding paper cutter etc... (if you want to cut it to size)
The following instructions are a guide only. Think of these screen protectors as very high quality transparent stickers. You can follow these basic instructions, but if you have your own way of applying these protectors feel free to use it. We do recommend however, that you read the additional hints that come after the instructions as they may come in handy. Most importantly, keep the intended target surface and the adhesive side of the screen protector free from dust, avoid bending it sharply prior to application which may cause a crease to form permanently, and avoid touching the screen protector's adhesive side with your hands. See the instructions below for how to wash the screen protector if you ruined your first attempt.
[Text & Images Contain Registered Copyrighted Material of Internetional Business And logistics and its owner(s)]
Click here for a printable version of these instructions
 |
| Step 1: Put your screen protector over your device. Step 2: Mark out the Corners of the screen with dots using a permanent marker or temporary marker, or by making a tiny dent in it with a pen indicated by the arrows, or however you want. Be careful not to permanently bend or cause a dent in the screen protector that you are going to use. We don't recommend you overlap onto the frame for touchscreens. |
 |
| Step 3: Draw straight lines with a
ruler to join the points together. This will tell you
what size you need to cut out. Step 4:
Cut out the screen surface required carefully following the lines (we recommend you cut it a little smaller so it won't stick to both the LCD screen and its frame, otherwise it may prevent touch screens from working) |
 |
| Step 5 and 6: Separate one end of the protective layer that covers the sticky side of the adhesive screen protector. It is Very
important that you DO NOT peel off the entire protective layer. This allows you to handle it easily and position it carefully without ruining the
adhesive. You can use your fingers or tape to separate the layers (See the 'Tips to separate the Screen protector' Section below). Avoid touching the adhesive side after exposing it. |
 |
| Step 7: Clean your intended surface and take the end of the screen protector that is exposed and align it to the destination screen. Step 8: Only stick/press one corner or edge / end down onto the screen first. Don't peel off all the backing layer yet or press the rest on. |
 |
| Step 9: IMPORTANT: DO THIS SLOWLY . Now, with one corner of the screen protector anchored to the screen, peel off / expose another 3mm of the screen protector from the back film, then use your finger to press that exposed part onto the screen. Then peel off another 3 mm and use your finger to press the exposed part onto the screen again. Repeat this untill you reach the end. .. it will look like a zigzag motion all the way till the end. NOTE: It is normal for lines to temporarily appear as a result of the zig zag method, and they should disappear totally within 24-48 hours without having to do anything. You should pay attention to bubbles, and not the lines. Try to expose as little of the screen protector as possible from the protective layer each time you move forward; the smaller the gap the better.) Intervals smaller than 0.3cm (3mm) are very effective because air bubbles smaller than 3mm are difficult to form with this screen protector. The zig zag delayed peel off method allows you to restart easily if you mess-up, and prevents accidental sticking of unused sections of screen protector material. The demonstration photos used 1mm to 2mm intervals and took under 2 minutes to apply |
How do i wash / clean the screen protector?
[Text & Images Contain Registered Copyrighted Material of Internetional Business And logistics and its owner(s)]
If there is dirt, stains or or glue residue on your screen protector when it came from the factory, put a little small drop of oil or adhesive remover onto a piece of tissue or cloth and use that part of the tissue/cloth to gently wipe the screen protector's surface. Don't pour chemicals onto the screen protector itself as it could overflow and seep into your device. Avoid scrubbing hard on the screen protector if it hasn't been applied to a screen, and avoid bending it or folding it sharply.
I got Dust and dirt on the sticky side.
[Text & Images Contain Registered Copyrighted Material of Internetional Business And logistics and its owner(s)]
Firstly please DO NOT attempt to pick off the dust and the dirt with your bare hands or tweezers. You can wash the adhesive side several times, but one significant scratch or dent/crease will ruin it forever. To clean the sticky side, 1) Soap your hands and fingers and pour some very soapy water onto the screen protector's sticky side till it all covered with soapy water (no detergents/chlorine; Liquid hand soap works well). 2) The soapy water will deactivate the sticky adhesive temporarily so nothing will stick to it, including the dirt, dust, and your hands. 3) Now use your soapy fingers to gently rub and wash the dust and the dirt to release themselves from the sticky part. Keep the screen protector fully soaped at all times, and do'nt scratch the sticky surface. One scratch will ruin it, but a couple of soap washes won't; so it may take some time.... 4) The sticky coating generally should not wash off at all unless you are using chlorine/bleach or some super type of soap that we don't know about. 5) Once all the dust and dirt is removed, hold the screen protector by the very edge and briefly rinse it under clean soap free water to get rid of the soap. Be careful as it will get sticky again very soon. 9) Hang it up to dry with a clothes peg in a dust free place or box. 10) Collect it again when it has dried to reattempt the application..
Pressing the protector onto the screen:
[Text & Images Contain Registered Copyrighted Material of Internetional Business And logistics and its owner(s)]
You do not need to remove all of the adhesive protection layer before applying the screen protector to your screen. You can remove a corner first that is covering the adhesive side, stick that corner to the screen, then slowly remove the adhesive protective layer as you press more and more of the screen protector onto the screen. This prevents the screen from sticking out of shape or accidentally sticking the protector to your hands, or sticking to the screen prematurely.
It is rarely required, but you can also use a little drop of lubricant or oil or perhaps even water (depending on what screen it is) between the screen and the protector to allow you to get rid of bubbles or air pockets or tiny dents. Smear it all over the screen before putting the protector on. Oil or Water based lubricant like KY Jelly may work and evaporate leaving the screen protector in place nicely with no bubbles giving an good result, while oil based may allow you to reposition it easily well into the future since grease/oil evaporates extremely slowly and the adhesive may not be effective. Obviously, this is up to you and if you wish to do so, you must know the risks involved of putting any form of liquid or lubricant, especially water or oil on your device- it may lead to rusting, corrosion and perhaps short circuits, which is rare with new age materials and circuitry, but still possible. We generally don't recommend you do this at all.
Tips to separate the screen protector:
[Text & Images Contain Registered Copyrighted Material of Internetional Business And logistics and its owner(s)]
Common ways to separate the thin adhesive protector film from the screen protector involves using your fingers to rub the edges perpendicularly and one side should come off - just like you separate a badly prepared sticker from its wax backing. The best and easiest method is to use a bit of tape as shown below in the picture. You can also use a pen knife or blade to scratch (but not cut), the side of the adhesive protecting film that is about 1mm from the corner of the paper. Scratch inwards on the adhesive layer (the side protecting the sticky part of the screen protector), and the rest of the film should be able come off easily. Only scratch the very very edge so you don't ruin the protector sheets.

Which side of the plastic is the adhesive side?
[Text & Images Contain Registered Copyrighted Material of Internetional Business And logistics and its owner(s)]
When you first look at the screen protectors after receiving it, it isn't obvious at all which side is the hard plastic and which side is the thin film covering the adhesive. At first glance, you might accidentally think it is just a piece of transparent plastic - It is not! There are actually two layers which can be peeled apart to reveal a sticky adhesive side. The side which is harder is the side of the actual screen protector, while the flimsy thin side is just the thin layer of plastic protecting the sticky adhesive side of the actual screen protector till it is ready for use (as shown in the diagram above).

What else can i do with it?
[Text & Images Contain Registered Copyrighted Material of Internetional Business And logistics and its owner(s)]
You can use it to protect any surface/screen.. This includes Touch screens, Tablet PC's, PDA's, Pocket PC's, Car GPS Navigation screens, Mp3 players, mobile phones, LCD Screens, Touch screens, Watches, Monitors, Keypads, digital cameras, laptops, or pretty much any surface really. If the surface is hard, the flatter the surface, the more incredible the crystal clear glass-like the result). Using it on paper will be similar to laminating it.
Although these are not self laminating sheets (the adhesive is totally different, and requires larger borders to remain watertight), you can use them as such if you really want excellent results on the spot without using a laminating machine, or if you have a super large document to laminate. The advanced adhesive stick quite well to each other, looking similar to a laminate sheet.. There are usually no bubbles present and a clear see through result is achievable. As stated earlier, you may be required to leave a larger border around the laminated object when you cut it to size if you want it water tight, not like the one shown in the picture, which is just for general tear protection.

What we think about its quality
[Text & Images Contain Registered Copyrighted Material of Internetional Business And logistics and its owner(s)]
This is one of the best screen protectors we have ever seen in terms of flatness and smoothness and clarity for such a low price, and we are impressed by the incredible size they come in (at our other auctions). We have rarely seen customizable sizes at retail shops or stores. It is smooth on sight and smooth on touch. Our PDA's Stylus (touch screen pen) feels like it is writing on glass.. It is really smooth to write on such that our fingers and PDA touch pens glide over the screen protector easily like they do on window glass. We prefer these compared to the flimsy rubbery, high friction stick on screen protectors that we had in the past.
It is not too flimsy and not too hard. Its rigidness is just right for easy handling.
Potential bad points may include the fact that they don't come with a tab to help separate the layers or indicate which side is which, This wouldn't be much of a problem as the difference in thickness is very obvious when you manage to separate the layers with your fingers. It took us under 5 seconds to separate the layers on the first attempt. Just try to peel it from another face/side if you have trouble.
Also, because these screen protectors are intended to take damage in replace of your screen getting damaged, it is normal to expect that these screen protectors can accumulate scratches over time, which is an indicator of how much stress your screen is exposed to.
Rubbery screen protectors are more resistant to scratches, but can come with problems of warping, or stretching, uncomfortable excessive friction or drag when used with PDA pens. So, at the expense of scratch resistance, this screen protector is harder, thicker and has much less warp, stretch, or cause drag or friction when used with PDA pens compared to some other screen protectors. Please consider if you see this as a good thing or a bad thing when bidding.
Also, because it is adhesive, it won't fall off easily by accident that would otherwise leave your screen or surface exposed to damage.(while in transport in a coat pocket for example). We also like it since it can be washed, although it must be done carefully with soap so as to not damage the adhesive coating- the adhesive coating can be damaged by scratches.
It doesn't have micro grooves or bumps on the adhesive side like some other stick on screen protectors. This makes it very clear and flat. This makes it more susceptible to bubbles. We feel that the professional glass-like invisible results outweigh the need for microgrooves to rid of air bubbles. - so please decide if this is a good or bad thing for you before bidding. Air bubble problems are easily solved compared to a potentially blurry image other older screen protectors can give.
We tried using other PDA protective screens with a Dell Axim x51V PDA, and the difference is very obvious. With this screen protector, the protective screen is nearly invisible with the backlight off. With the backlight on, it is pretty much totally invisible. Images come through really sharp and clear on the screen (the Dell x51v has the highest resolution screen we have ever seen in such a tiny space). We used the zigzag method with application; faint micro air-lines appeared but disappeared after 24 hours as with all our other screens.
Overall, we recommend this item if you are serious about professional screen protection at a budget price. It is harder to get up and running, but as such it has its benefits which include price, smoothness, quality, quantity and end results when done correctly.
Also, do not mistake its initial appearance as blurry. Once you sperate the screen protector from the adhesive protective layer, the actual screen protector it is much clearer. When stuck onto a flat surface, you could see your reflection very clearly and sharply in it, like in the pictures above. |
