AKA "early readers" or "chapter books"

These books are hugely popular with students, parents and teachers!  They are 'transition' readers as kids in lower to middle primary move away from picture books, but do not have the comprehension and memory for novels...these are the books created to help them 'transition' to reading 'chapters.'

These books are also often used for remedial readers (aka poor readers) in the upper primary years, who struggle to read novels, and are too old for picture books!

Many of these books have award winning authors (look for a sticker on the cover).

Most have a lexile grading (if you are familiar with lexiles).
