This film was introduced worldwide in 1990 and almost overnight became an instant favourite as the only enhanced (i.e. boosted) colour transparency film at that time. For some unknown reason Fuji decided to stop making this extraordinarily popular film having previously introduced first Fuji Velvia 100F and then Fuji Velvia 100 to presumably replace it. Fuji  ceased manufacture of Fuji Velvia 50 in April 2006 but almost immediately were greeted with complaints plus requests & appeals for Fuji Velvia 50 to be manufactured again. In this digital age it is encouraging to see that a favourite film around the world can be revived after millions of requests. And so in early 2007 Fuji Film Corporation started to maunfacture an almost exact version of Velvia 50 again to enormous popular acclaim. Fuji Velvia 50 whilst having extremely fine grain (RMS:9) and being extremely sharp has the same stunning colour and sharpness that made it world famous in 1990 upon its introduction.

In short this is arguably THE BEST ENHANCED COLOUR TRANSPARENCY (SLIDE) FILM THAT FUJI HAS EVER MADE (according literally millions of photographers)! And that's saying something as the current crop of film emulsions from both Fuji and Kodak are the best that have ever been manufactured!
