This item is 50 mixed transparent MILLEFIORI glass slices.Glass makers in Murano, Italy have been producing exquisite millefiori ("thousand flowers") since the 15th century. Skillful Murano glass craftsmen, who were famous for their blown glass and exquisite beads, expanded their craft to include the production of glass rods made with different colored layers, with some of the center layers resembling rosettes, stars and other shapes. Thus was born millefiori. The same processing technique used then is still used todayWhether you are a mosaic artist, glass fuser, scrapbooker, egg artist or lamp-worker these tiles cut from canes of glass like blackpool rock, are a fantastic highlight.Millefiori is not compatible with Bullseye or Uroboros. They have a C.O.E. of 104. May be used with Moretti Sheet glass or Moretti Rods. The thickness of these tiles is uneven and with some angle cuts. I have tried to make sure that all of the tiles have at least one flat side to be the face of the tile. Most are approx 2-3mm thick so work well with the 3mm mirror and leadlight glass, These are not beads, which is how they are usually sold; there are no holes drilled in them.
