500 Jiffy Pellets ( Jiffy-7 ) 42mm diameter


The jiffy pellets on offer are made of 100% biodegradable compressed peat and they are approved for organic production. The pots can be used on their own or used in conjunction with the cell trays that are also available for purchase from our store.


How to use:

The best method to prepare for sowing is to lay out the pellets in the cell tray with the dimple side up and wet them in 3 or 4 times with a watering can.
 
Within 5 minutes they will swell up to about 4cm high and become soft to touch. They are now ready to use. Seeds are placed into the exposed peat at the top, on some you may need to part the fine mesh which holds the peat together.

The cell tray (Also available in store) is designed to hold each pellet in place and maintain an even spacing between plants. Once the seedlings have sprouted and are large enough just pop the whole plant and pellet in to the garden with no mess and no root disturbance.
