The NSW Coat of Arms appears on the 50c piece showing a lion and kangaroo supporting the shield. Agriculture is depicted in the form of a golden fleece and sheaves of wheat, while the red cross of St. George carries four gold eight-pointed stars (representing the Southern Cross) and the golden lion of England. The rising sun above represents the newly risen country, its meaning reflected in the Latin motto below, translated: ‘Newly risen how brightly you shine.’ The coins were minted only 3,042,000 for circulation on that year 2001.The coins for sale are out from circulation and still in their very nice circulated condition. These coins are getting harder to find as they are less in mintage and value will sure be raised as years go by.
