Why throw your glass jars
out when you can recycle them yourself? Give them a
wash, and they're as good as new... though the same thing can't always be said
of the insides of the lids! Sometimes the rubber seal is stained, sometimes the
odour of the original contents just won't go away, and quite often the first
signs of corrosion are present around the seal. Sometimes the coating in the
centre has bubbled up (meaning rust will soon burst through), and on cheaper,
uncoated lids it can already be visible. That's when you need new lids, and
quality ones that won't die in their first use.
These gold steel lids are the thicker,
better quality caps with protective coating on the
inside, and soft compound rubber for a perfect seal every time
(provided you do it right, of course! Don't know how? It's EASY!!! Just
ask me for directions which I'm only too happy to supply to buyers).

Pickles, Preserved Fruit, Pureed Fruit & Vegetables, Jam, Condiments...
whatever takes your fancy!
While I use Fowlers Vacola jars and
accessories for large batches, I much prefer the ease of use of recycled
jars (with the piece of mind of new lids) for smaller batches.

These lids seal excellently, and generally can
be used quite a few times, depending on the acidity of the contents.
Also, 63mm lids are perhaps the most versatile
size, as they fit a variety of sizes in standard, specialty (shaped), and "homestyle"
(patterned) jars. Check out the pic below for just a few of the jars that take
this size lid. And they're cheaper than what I paid at a popular bottling
suppliers across town before having to buy bulk for my produce for sale (homestyle
pickles and gourmet fruits coming soon!). So grab some now and get preserving! A
little bit of heat sealing goes a long way!

If you are just about to buy and are
under the impression you will be getting jars with these lids, then I'm
sorry but it appears you haven't read the ad properly! Please take
buying on eBay seriously and read all ads properly, as many sellers will
not cancel a sale because of "Oh, but I thought...". Also, you might not
realise your mistake until after having received the goods (which will
not be the fault of the seller), so to avoid such disappointment, please
do more than just scan a couple of words and look at a picture or two.
If you read the ad again, you will
see these lids are for recycling your own jars, which is why a lid size
is in the title of this ad and not a bottle or jar volume. Also,
delivery rates are based on 250g and 500g delivery rates, which would of
course be impossible if you were getting a bunch of jars or bottles as
well. |
